Edith "Tudie" Elizabeth Bybee
May 17, 1923 - September 24, 2023
Edith "Tudie" Elizabeth Bybee passed away at the age of 100 after a brief illness. Born in Kansas City, MO on May 17, 1923, she was the daughter of Clarence and Lucy Carey. She grew up in Waverly, KS before moving to Missouri as a teenager. It was there that she met her future husband, Hobart "Bud" Bybee. To this union were born two children, Donald and Donna. Bud, who passed away in 1984, was an ordained Missionary Baptist minister; Edith was a devoted "preacher's wife."

She was saved at the age of 27 and was a member of Sentinel Missionary Baptist Church. She loved going to church and regularly attended right up until her passing.

Edith had several jobs throughout her lifetime including teaching, operating the telephone switchboard, and working at Teter's Floral. More than anything, though, she loved to work outside in the yard and in her garden. She also loved her dogs.

She is preceded in death by her father Clarence, mother Lucy, husband Bud, sister Dorothy, and brothers Charles, Alvie, and John.

Survivors include her children: Donald and wife Reva of Halfway, Donna and husband Neil Reynolds of Polk. Grandchildren: Keith Bybee and wife Marci of Preston, Kirk Reynolds and wife Beth of Bolivar. Great grandchildren: Kyler Bybee and fiancée Paige Myers, Brooke Reynolds, and Paige Reynolds. Step-grandchildren: Lisa Moore and Matt Forrest. Also many nieces and nephews.

Online condolences may be left at www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com. Services for "Tudie" will be on Wednesday, September 27 at 10:00 AM at Pitts Chapel Bolivar, MO. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the chapel. Burial will follow the service at Mt. View Cemetery in Polk, MO.
