Harvey attended Superior Public Schools. He was a WWII Army Veteran. He had worked in the CCC Camps, for Western Weighing Grain Inspection, the Great Northern Railroad and had retired in 1977 from the Burlington Northern Railroad. He was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church, the VFW and Eagles Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lois Cole, Marie Anderson and Ethel Midbon; and sons, Owen Gravening and Michael and Wayne Erickson.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Ada; sons, Harvey, Duluth, and Rick, Superior; daughter, Geraldine Hester of IL; daughter-in-law, Mary Jendrzejewski of South Range; brother, Russell (Phyllis), Superior; sisters, Shirley (Ron) Peterson, Superior and Linda (Ralph) Coon of Olympia, WA; many nieces and nephews; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Burial in Greenwood Cemetery with military honors at a later date.
