Luke was born in Brattleboro on January 14, 1992 the son of Stephen Alderman and Amy Castle. He attended school in Westminster, Bellows Falls, and Brattleboro. While attending the Windham Regional Career Center he was studying law enforcement and couldn't wait to visit the police academy. He was also an avid car enthusiast and had just started work in that field. He planned to attend Springfield Technical Community College in Massachusetts next year for either criminal justice or automotive. Luke is survived by his mother, Amy Castle; his father, Stephen Alderman; and his brother, Bryan Alderman; and his best friend and girlfriend, Ashley.

A 17-year-old Westminster youth died after a jack collapsed while he was working under a vehicle.
