Kerrie L. Wyborny, 44, of Rudd passed away Monday (Dec. 28, 2009) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services for Kerrie Wyborny will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock Community School in Rockford with Monsignor Walter Brunkan officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, rural Rudd.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main in Charles City, where there will be a vigil scriptural wake service at 4 p.m. Visitation will continue an hour before the service Monday at the school.
Kerrie Lynne Lawrenz was born April 20, 1965, at Britt, the daughter of James and Sandra (Korinke) Lawrenz. She graduated from the Rudd Rockford Marble Rock Community School in 1983 and earned her elementary education degree from Buena Vista College in 1987. On April 12, 1986, she was united in marriage to Roni Wyborny at Holy Name Catholic Church in Rockford. Kerrie was a TAG and kindergarten teacher in the RRMR School District, she loved teaching and making a difference in children's lives. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Roseville.
Her interests included shopping, reading, fishing, Harley road trips and attending her children's activities. Kerrie will be remembered as a beloved wife, cherished mother, loving sister, adored daughter and faithful friend. Her pride was her family; she adored her husband and three children. "Some people stay in our lives for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same." Kerrie will be missed by many.
Living family members include her husband, Roni Wyborny of Rudd; three children, Matthew, Sadie and Adam Wyborny, all of Rudd; parents, Jim and Sandra Lawrenz of Rockford; two sisters, Kelly (Lee) Whipple and Kristin Lawrenz, all of Waseca, Minn.; maternal grandmother, Edith Sonne, of Nashua; parents-in-law, Glen and Doris Wyborny of Rudd; sister-in-law, Charlotte (Gary) Johnson of Mason City; brother-in-law, Michael (Shelley) Wyborny of Rudd; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Alfred and Florence Lawrenz; maternal grandfather, James Korinke Sr.; step-maternal grandfather, Edward Sonne; and sister-in-law, Cindy Schriever.
