Demetrius Augustin [sic] Strittmatter, an aged and respected citizen of East Carroll township, Cambria county, died at 8:30 Wednesday evening at his home of diseases incident to old age, he being in his 83rd year. Mr. Strittmatter was named after and baptized by the famous Prince Gallitin [sic] at Loretto and had lived all his life on the farm where he died, and was highly respected by all the people of the community where he spent his life. He is survived by his widow, Margaret Zorn Strittmatter and these sons and daughters: Alex, Boniface, and Francis J. of East Carroll township; Sylvester and Simon of Hastings; Mrs. James Scanlon, of Cambria township; and Mrs. John E. Tomlinson, of Allegheny township. The funeral will be held on Saturday morning at 10 o'clock from St. Benedict's Catholic church at Carrolltown, with interment in the church cemetery.
