Magdalene M. Junion, 89, Luxemburg, passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 5, 2010, surrounded by her family at her son, Jim and daughter-in-law, Jeanne's home, New Franken. She was born June 6, 1920, in the Town of Lincoln, to the late John A. and Josephine (Monfort) Deprey.
On June 19, 1940, she married Lawrence X. Junion at St. Peter Church in Lincoln. They were married nearly 65 years, when he preceded her in death April 28, 2005. Together they owned and operated the Junion Homestead farm until their retirement in October of 1990, when they relocated to Luxemburg. Magdalene and her husband, Lawrence, were members of the Mr. & Mrs. Dance Club and the Happy Hoppers. She was an active member and former officer of the Catholic Order of Foresters. She was an excellent caregiver, especially to four close family members, including her husband until their death. Magdalene always enjoyed working the fields of her farm on the John Deere '70, which is still kept in the family by her son, Jim.
Survivors include two sons, Jim (Jeanne) Junion, New Franken; Larry (Cathy) Junion, Green Bay; one daughter, Peggy (Tony) Knorn (who now run the Junion Homestead Farm), Casco; eight grandchildren, Jody (Chris) Rasmussen, Paul Junion (friend, Erin), Christine Junion-Suttner (friend, Myron), Jeff Junion, Amanda Knorn (fiance, Jesse), Megan, Amber and Mikayla Knorn; seven great-grandchildren, Phillip, Christian, Libbie, Logan, Alex, Ella and Eva; three nephews, and their wives, Eben (Lois), Gene (Mary Jane) and Karl (Lynn) Koss, Marian Koss, one niece Karen Havel (Magdalene's godchild); one stepbrother, Vince Delain (Betty), Casco; and her beloved kitty, Tee Tee.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Mae Deprey, her sister-in-law, Collette (Ben) Koss, one nephew, Glen Koss.
Friends may call at the McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG, 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010. Catholic Order of Foresters Rosary 7 p.m. Visitation will continue between 10 and 10:45 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg. Funeral 11 a.m. Friday at the church with Rev. Tom Hagendorf and Rev. Milton Suess officiating. Entombment in The Shrine of The Good Shepherd Mausoleum, Green Bay.
