Lawrence W. "Pete" Peterson, age 91, of Sheboygan, died January 2, 2010 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.
Lawrence was born December 27, 1918 in Mayville, WI to Walter and Leona (Morey) Peterson.
Following graduation he enlisted in the US Navy, stationed aboard the Battleship USS West Virginia during the bombing of Pearl Harbor. After his honorable discharge he worked as a welder, eventually living in South Dakota.
In 1950 he married Aldine Gaulke and they relocated to Sheboygan in 1956.
On July 17, 1971 Lawrence was united in marriage to Joyce A. Reinhardt.
In addition to his wife, Joyce, he is survived by four daughters, Laura (Denis Maloney) Murphy of Sheboygan Falls, Leann (Robert) Sutton of Gilroy, CA, Lana (Jeffrey) Theobald of Sheboygan, and Lynnette (James) Richter of Sheboygan; thirteen grandchildren, Michael (Cindy) Murphy, Daniel (Kristin) Murphy, Michelle Murphy, Shane (Debbie) Murphy, Richard (Monica) Kelley, Christine (Yannick) Barel, Stephanie Sutton, Chrissy Sutton, Kimberly (Jay) Riemer, Troy (Tabetha Lafeber) Theobald, Jamie (Courtney) Theobald, Kevin (Nicole) Richter, Jason Richter, Todd (Robin Baumgart) Richter; twenty-four great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one sister, Ruth Kisiolek of Sheboygan; a sister-in-law, Audrey Peterson of Sheboygan.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roland Peterson and James Peterson; one sister, Marcella Peterson; and a grandson, Robert Sutton, Jr.
Memorial services January 6, 2010 at Ballhorn Chapels. Rev. Dr. Steven J. Pedersen, Senior Pastor of Zion Covenant Church, will officiate. Entombment at Garden Terrace Mausoleum.
