Lambert Hoeschen, age 86 of Melrose, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose. Mass of Christian Burial was Monday, June 28 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose. The Rev. Vincent Lieser officiated.
Lambert Hoeschen was born on March 4, 1918 to William and Mary (Linn) Hoeschen. On July 13, 1943 he was united in marriage to Johanna Gangl at St. Francis. The couple farmed near Freeport. They later moved to St. Paul, where he worked for Trussbilt for 20 years. In 1974 they moved to a home on Big Birch Lake near Melrose and he was employed by Arnzen Construction. They moved to Melrose in 1990 and later moved to Parkview Center. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose. He enjoyed woodworking, cabinet making and hunting.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Johanna Hoeschen of Melrose; son, Kenneth (Mary) Hoeschen of Maplewood; son-in-law, Tom Riebe of Roseville; two grandchildren, Todd (Traci) Riebe and Tammy Jo Riebe; sisters Ida Spaeth of Melrose and Florence Ziwicki of Royalton; sister-in-law, Marion Hoeschen.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, JoAnn Riebe; sister and brother, Esther and Louis Hoeschen. Serving as casket bearers were Todd Riebe, Allen Doetmier, Raymond Stoerman, Al, Don and Elmer Gangl.
