Annie Catherine Zahn Hosek, a resident of Poth, Texas, and lifelong resident of Wilson County, Texas, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at the age of 95 years, 11 months, and 14 days.
Mrs. Hosek attended Rideout Community School and Floresville High School. On Oct. 7, 1930, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, Texas, she married Paul Hosek. Mrs. Hosek was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth, the church's Altar Society, the Catholic Daughters, and the K.J.Z.T.
Mrs. Hosek was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Mary Simper Zahn; husband Paul Hosek Sr., who passed away April 20, 1978; son, Robert Hosek, who passed away June 16, 1966; nine brothers and sisters.
Survivors include: sons, Paul J. Hosek (Marie), Lawrence Hosek and (Lillian), and Richard Hosek Sr. (JoAnn); grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Moczygemba, Yvonne Gawlik, James Hosek, Clarence Hosek, Stephen Hosek, Chris Hosek, Lawrence Hosek, Elaine Alguire, Richard Hosek Jr., Angelene Nordin, Joseph Hosek, Robert Hosek, and Sandra Hosek; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Zahn; sisters-in-law, Lilly Hosek and Gertrude Zahn; numerous nieces and nephews.
A rosary was held on Sunday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home in Poth.
Mass was held at 10 a.m. on Monday, in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth, with Father Grzegorz Szewczyk, S.D.S., officiating.
Interment followed in the Blessed Sacrament Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons James Hosek, Clarence Hosek, Stephen Hosek, Christopher Hosek, Lawrence Hosek, Richard A. Hosek Jr., Joseph Hosek, and Robert Hosek.
