Funeral services for Herman Christian Krapf, 82, were conducted Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Luverne. Burial was in North Eden Township Cemetery near Jasper. The Rev. A.C. Schmalz officiated. Lorenz Krogman; John Hoeck, Eddie DeClerk, James Johnson, Robert E. Erickson and Charles Belau were pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Fred Herman; Arnold Klassen, John Hamman, Jurgen Oeding, Frances Lundby, Theodore Oye and Kenneth Sargent. Herman Krapf was born February 15, 1896 in Pipestone County near Jasper. He attended rural schools. His Married Mabel Burkey on august 12, 1925 in Jackson. After serving overseas during World War *, he farmed for five years, then operated a hardware store in Ihlen for at years. He later farmed for 35 years before working as a car salesman. He was a member of the village council at Ihlen for 14 years and served on the township board. He was baptized and confirmed in Trinity Lutheran Church at Jasper and was a member of that church for 70 years. He became a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church after moving to Luverne in 1969. Mr. Krapf died May 26 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Sioux Falls. Mr. Krapf is survived by his wife, of Luverne; one daughter, Doris (Mrs. Verland) Johnson, Luverne; and one son, Dean Krapf, San Diego, California; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Herman Dock, Jasper; one brother, William Krapf, Pipestone.
