Joyce Miller, 84, of Scottsbluff, passed away November 10, 2015 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Her funeral service will be held November 13, 2015 at the First Christian Church in Scottsbluff. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Joyce was born on February 21, 1931 to Warren and Elizabeth (Butherus) Sams. After graduating from Scottsbluff High School, she worked for the phone company for two years. She married Jimmie D. Miller on April 3, 1952 in San Diego, CA. The couple had four children. Joyce and Jim lived in San Diego for three years while Jim served in the U. S. Navy. They also lived in Rock Hill, SC for two years before returning to Scottsbluff where Joyce was a homemaker. In 1976, she returned to work at the telephone company and retired in 1992. Her parents, husband Jimmie D. Miller and son-in law Larry Sterkel preceded her in death.
