CENTNER Feb. 12, 1921 - Sept. 24, 2009 Mrs. Centner, 88, was the only daughter of Frank and Marie Kleemann, born in the village of Grossjetcha, a.k.a. Iecea Mare, Romania, on Feb. 12, 1921. Predeceased shortly after her birth by her infant brother, John Kleemann, Anne came with her parents to the United States in 1927 through Ellis Island and then headed to North Dakota for a brief time before settling in Cincinnati, Ohio. Anne attended Hughes High School and graduated from the Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in 1942, RN. During her nursing career working in the operating room and in labor/delivery, she met and later married Paul Joseph Centner, M.D; they married on June 2nd of 1945. Together, they had three children, Mary Elizabeth Brothers, M.D. (Douglas; Lansing, Kan.); Katherine Anne Tilson, R.N. (Dennis; Prairie Village, Kan.); and Sister Patricia Centner, OSF, of the home. There is one grandchild, Paul Centner Tilson. Her husband preceded her death on July 14, 1999. Anne was an active member in the community of St. Ann's Catholic Church and also of the Woman's Auxiliary St. Mary's Hospital throughout her husband's tenure on the medical staff. She was loving, a devoted wife, dedicated daughter and mother, and grandmother. Her greatest joys were caring for her family, home, and garden. The visitation will be at the McGilley and Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, Kan., from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27; the rosary will be said at 5 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at St. Ann's Church, 7231 Mission Road, Prairie Village, Kan., with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa, Kan. In lieu of flowers, please kindly make a donation to the charity of your choice.
