He enlisted in the Army on February 17, 1942 at New Cumberland, Pennsylvania.

He died of wounds received in action on October 16, 1944 at Steenweg, The Netherlands (Holland).

He was originally from Hanover, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.

He was interred in the Gettysburg National Cemetery on December 8, 1947.
