Martin Andrew Miltner August 23, 1942 - December 15, 2008 COLUMBUS, GA — SFC (Ret.) Martin Andrew Miltner, 66, of Columbus died Monday, December 15, 2008 at The Medical Center. Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2008 at Main Post Cemetery, Ft. Benning, GA. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, December 18, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. SFC (Ret.) Miltner was born August 23, 1942 in Niskayuna, NY son of the late Charles R. and Eleanor Smith Miltner. He retired from the U.S. Army with 21 years of distinguished service. During this time he served honorably in the Vietnam War and the Korean War. He received many commendations and awards, among them were the National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Magdalena Miltner of Columbus; three sons, Robert A. Miltner and his wife, Sheila of Clearwater, FL, James W. Miltner and his wife, Carol of Yorktown, VA, and Walter R. Miltner and his wife, Misty of Columbus; two daughters, Terri L. Horn and her husband, Jimmy of Columbus and Debara A. Dickershaid and her husband, John of Schenectady, NY; grandchildren, Chad, Martin, Michael J., and Timothy R. Miltner, Jason and Jessica Horn, Jonathan and Kayla Dickershaid, Kayla and Austin Domingue; three brothers, Charles, Terry, and Gary Miltner; two sisters, Carol Tubbs, and Linda Dexter; numerous other family members and friends
