Born July 11, 1931, in New Bethlehem, he was a son of F. Darl and Irene Lucas Kerr.
Mr. Kerr was retired as a machine operator from Owens-Illinois where he worked for 34 years. He was a very active member of the First Church of God in New Bethlehem. He also was a member of Lodge No. 522, F. & A.M. of New Bethlehem. Mr. Kerr's hobbies included camping, woodworking, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
He was married in Hagerstown, Md., in 1951 to Shirley McGregor, who survives. Shirley is the daughter of Frank Cecil and Naomi V Ferguson McGregor.
Also surviving are a son, S. Glenn Kerr Jr. of Patton; a daughter, Susan L. Kerr of Gallitzin; one granddaughter and her husband, Cynthia and Richard Henderson of Rural Valley; and two great-grandchildren, Steele Henderson and Levi Henderson of Rural Valley.
He also is survived by two sisters, Ellen K. Herron of Chambersburg and Lois C. Kerr of Pittsfield; and three brothers, James L. Kerr of Pittsburgh, Frederick C. Kerr of Warren, Pa., and Melvin D. Kerr of Punxsutawney.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Kerr was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley L. Panciera.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Bish Memorial Funeral Home, 206 South St., New Bethlehem. Visitation also will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the First Church of God in New Bethlehem. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the church with the Rev. Harold Crawford, pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery at Beautiful Look out.
