FORMER VERDANT VALLEY WOMAN DIED NOVEMBER 15 IN WASHINGTON STATE

Word was received here this week of the death of Mrs. Laura Friedel, sixty-four years old, at her home in Kennydale, Wash., on Sunday, Nov. 15.

The late Mrs. Friedel was born in Canada and went to the United States about forty-five years ago. When the Verdant Valley district was opened for settlement, she came with her husband and resided on a homestead about fifteen miles north-east of Drumheller for several years.

The funeral took place on Nov. 19 at the St. Luke's Episcopal church, Renton, of which she was organist for many years.

Surviving are her husband, Fred Friedel; a son, Charles Friedel; her mother, Mrs. Emma Cook, and a sister, Mrs. Della Chriswell, Seattle, and three brothers - Ross Coates, Kennydale; William Coates, Buffalo, N.Y., and Frank Coates, Rochester, N.Y.
