James Otis Glahn, a prominent farmer of the Leonard community and a brother of Milton J. Glahn, of Palmyra, died at his home early Tuesday morning of last week following a lengthy illness with a heart ailment.
Mr. Glahn was born near Leonard on April 1, 1879, a son of the late Christian P. and Mary Wilson Arnett Glahn. Several years ago he was married to Miss Maggie Mae Foreman, of Shelbyville. Mrs. Glahn, with two children, survives. The children are Otis Glahn, Jr., of Shelbina, and Mrs. Imogene Copenhaver, of the Leonard vicinity, and two grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers, Mac Glahn, of Leonard, and Milton J. Glahn, of Palmyra, and four sisters, Mrs. Fred Johnson, of St. Louis; Miss Gertie Glahn, of Leonard, and Alma and Mary, both of whom are married and live in the State of Oklahoma. He was also a brother of the Ben F. Glahn and Dr. C.P. Glahn, and attorney and physician respectively, who practiced their professions in Palmyra.
Funerals services were held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at Hager's Grove church, north of Clarence, conducted by the Rev. J.L. Shoemaker, of Shelbina.
