William Fredrick Raschke, son of Albert and Caroline Raschke, was born July 8, 1885, at Joliet, Illinois, and was baptized on July 14 of the same year. On February 26, 1898 he was confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church at Joliet, Ill. by the Rev. Aug. Schuessler.

At the age of 13 he moved with his parents to Tyler, Minnesota, and two years later moved to Princeton, Minnesota. In 1905 he moved to Holland, Minnesota and had since been a resident of Pipestone County.

On June 14, 1909, he was united in marriage to Hattie Conrad at St. James Lutheran Church at Holland by the Rev. T. Albrecht. After a few years at Holland they moved to the vicinity of Jasper and Trosky and in 1945 they bought a small farm west of Pipestone, where they had since made their home.

On November 12, he suffered a severe stroke and a week later his condition took a turn for the worse and he was taken to the Ashton Memorial Hospital where he passed away on Monday evening, November 24 at 10 o'clock at the age of 62 years, 4 months, and 36 days.

Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon at one o'clock at Trinity Lutheran Church at Jasper by the Rev. W.F. Preuss.

"Asleep in Jesus" was sung by the choir and Mrs. Carol Kronoveter sag a solo "Just As I Am."

Interment was in the new addition of the Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Sophus Clausen, August Stueven, Wm. Lettow, Herman Krapf, John Bouman, and John Rieck.

He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, two sons, and two daughters. Elmer of Jasper, Mrs. Watler Stueven (Erma) of Pipestone, Lester at home, and Mrs. Herbert (Delores) Schmuck of Luverne. Three grandchildren: Myla Jean, Daryl Stueven and Roger Raschke; also four brothers: Ferdinand of Grey Eagle, Minnesota; Herman of La Maure, North Dakota; August of Hastings, Minnesota, and Louis of Pipestone. Two sisters: Mrs. Louis Freter, of Balaton, Minnesota, and Mrs. Hy Buckholz of Pipestone, and a host of relatives and friends.

Relatives her from a distance were: Mrs. and Mrs. Ferdinand Raschke, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Raschke and Mrs. Walter Raschke of Grey Eagle, Minnesota; Mrs. Linda Chapple, St. Paul; Mrs. Jack Dugan, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Conrad and family of Redwood Falls, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. L.W. Freter, Mr. and Mrs. Art Freter and Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Freter of Balaton, Minnesota; Wm., Carl, Gustav Quade and Herman Conrad of Jeffers, Minnesota.
