Louis Camillo, 74, retired Houston avenue grocer who came to Port Arthur 33 years ago, died on Sunday at 3 pm at the residence of a granddaughter, Mrs. Paul Zummo of 748 Eight street, after an illness of nine weeks.
Mr. Camillo was a native of Italy. During his first years here he was employed as a stevedore by c. Flanagan and Sens.
Later he opened a grocery store at 1748 Houston avenue but retired 10 years ago because of ill health. He was a naturalized citizen.
He was a former member of the Eagles lodge and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church.
Surviving are eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The body will lie in state at the Dillon funeral home until time for services at St. Mary's church today at 4:30 pm.
Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery. Pallbearers were listed as Battiste Nicotre, L. J. Bertoloni, Tony and Frank Graffagnino, S. Roccaforte and Marion Aquilina.
