Mrs. F. Greak's Funeral Held Here Dec. 27
Funeral services for Mrs. Frieda Greak, 83, were held Monday, Dec 27, in the Hubbard Funeral Chapel with burial in Masonic Cemetery. Rev. Wm. Mosley and Rev. John Peters officiated.
Mrs. Greak, a lifelong resident of this area, died at 6:30 p.m. on Christmas Day in Youens Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient only one day.
Born March 22, 1893 at Holman, she was the daughter of John and Anna (Mueller) Swoboda. She was married to Oscar Frank Greak Sr. on July 28, 1917 at Weimar. For many years they had lived in the Oak Grove area southeast of town.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church here, the Priscilla Circle of that church, and the Oak Grove Homemakers Club.
Mrs. Greak's husband preceded her in death in 1968. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Frankie Dee Schobel and Mrs. Gloria Marie Guthmann of Columbus and Mrs. Margaret Sebesta of Danbury; six sons, LeRoy of Weimar, Oscar F. Jr. and T. W. of Rosharon, John of Rock Island, Daniel of Eagle Lake; and Edwin of Industry; 34 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, seven grandsons, one brother and four sisters preceded her in death.
Pallbearers, all grandsons, were Walter Guthmann Jr., Sidney Greak, Oscar Greak, III, Melvin Schobel, Bruce Sebesta, and Jimmy Joe Greak. All other grandsons ere honorary pallbearers.
