ALLENTON’S DR. FISHER DIES

Dr. Raymond S. Fisher, 73, of 608 Church St., Allenton, died suddenly of a heart attack this morning at home.

Fisher, who was born in Janesville July 23, 1902, came to Allenton from Fond du Lac, where he interned at St. Agnes Hospital.

He came to Allenton in 1929; the year St. Joseph’s Community Hospital was built in West Bend, and was the last surviving member of the hospital’s original staff.

He married J. Remona Seeboth at St. Matthew’s Church, Milwaukee, on May 14, 1930.

Fisher, general practitioner, was the only doctor in Allenton and dispensed his own drugs because the town has no drugstore.

Survivors include his wife; two children, Mary (Harry) Devitt of Addison, Ill., and Dianne (William) Lundgren of Villa Park, Ill.; his mother, Minnie Fisher, Whitewater, and one brother, James (Lorraine) of Whitewater.

He was a member of the Allenton Businessman’s Association, the Washington County Medical Society, the AMA, the State Medical Society and was an honorary staff member of St. Joseph’s Community Hospital. He was also a trustee of the Samaritan Home.

Visitation will be at the Techtman-Myrhum Funeral Home, West Bend, after 4 p.m. on Thursday. Private funeral services will be held on Friday with Rev. Florian Mac officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Allenton.

Those who wish may give memorials in Dr. Fisher’s name to their favorite charity.

In addition to the survivors listed in yesterday’s obituary of Dr. Raymond S. Fisher, 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.
