Maude Hood, 85, of Big Spring, died on Tuesday, September 24, 2002, in a local nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2002, at the Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel with Rev. Dudley Mullins, pastor of East Fourth Street Baptist Church, officiating.

She was born on November 16, 1916 in Big Spring, Texas.

Mrs. Hood had worked as a checker at Piggly Wiggly and then as a mail clerk at the Fina Refinery for 22 years, retiring in 1976.

She was a member of East Fourth Street Baptist Church and a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class and the Mighty Oaks.

She loved sewing, homemaking and her family.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Bobbie Ruth Nix of Big Spring; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Dwight and Diana Hood of Bedford; three grandchildren, James Nix and wife, Mary, of Cocoa, Florida, Tommy Scott and wife, Laura, of Big Spring and Brenda Henley and husband, Puncher, of Stanton; nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, N.B. and Agnes Davidson and twelve brothers and sisters.
