OBITUARY Iron River Reporter May 6 1987 “Obituaries: David Lohrey”
BATES TOWNSHIP – David E. Lohrey, 52, of 196 Reiman Rd., died May 4 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn. following a brief illness.
He was born July 22, 1934 in Gaastra, attended the Stambaugh schools and was a lifelong resident of the local area. On Aug. 18, 1956 he married the former Barbara Mikkola in Crystal Falls. He was employed for 25 years by Cohodes Brothers Co. of Ishpeming and for the past 11 years by the Riverside Bar & Pizzeria.
He is survived by his wife Barbara; five sons, David of Loveland, Colo., Ronald, Robert, and Rickey of Iron River and Glenn at home; his parents Sadie and Earl Lohrey of Caspian; two sisters, Dorothy Marra of Chicago, Ill. and June Turcotte of Marquette; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother James and a sister Marge Paiter.
Visitation was held Tuesday, May 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Duvall-Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron River.
Services will be held Wednesday, May 6 at 1:30 p.m. at the Duvall-Jacobs Funeral Home with the Rev. Clayton Parcels, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Iron River, to officiate.
Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
