William "Bill" Henry Midget, Jr., 61, died Thursday morning, August 23, 2001, at his home in Klamath Falls. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sue; daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Rodney Hightower, of Junction City, Ore., Marilyn and Jeff Blaze of Manchester, Mass., and Brenda M. and Hubert Albers, of Olympic, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Dina Midget, of Stockton, Calif.; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Rob Sabatini, of Greenview, Calif.; father, William H. Midget, Sr., of Redding, Calif.; grandchildren, Austin, Garrett and Bethany Hightower, Zachariah William Midget, Rachael Joy Midget and Hans Hubert Steven Albers; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Opal Midget; son, Steven William Midget; and great niece, Freedom Nichole Segal.

William "Bill" Henry Midget, Jr. of Klamath Falls died of natural causes on Aug. 23, 2001 in Klamath Falls. He was 61. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at O'Hair and Riggs Funeral Chapel. A private burial will take place at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Rev. Billy Hamblin of Calvary Temple will perform the service. O'Hair and Riggs Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Public visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday.
Mr. Midget was born on July 14, 1940 in Westwood, Calif. to William Henry and Mary Opal (Blair) Midget.
Mr. Midget graduated from Crescent City High School where he was active in numerous sports. He received a football scholarship to attend SOSC in Ashland.
After a year of college, he enlisted for a four-year duty in the Air Force on May 12, 1959, and was an Airman First Class E-4.
Following his discharge on Nov. 8, 1963, he enrolled in barber college in Sacramento and opened his own shop a short while later.
During this time he continued his education attending Sacramento Community College and Sacramento State College, and he also worked for the West Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.
In 1969 he sold his barber shop and went to work for Southern Pacific Railroad as a Special Agent. He attended the California Police Academy, the State of Oregon Police Academy, and U.C. Davis.
He worked in Sacramento and later in Dunsmuir.
Mr. Midget married Sue Rey Longfellow in Yreka on April 16, 1977, and then his job took him to Klamath Falls. In 1981 he was transferred to Eugene where he worked until 1989 when he returned to Klamath Falls. He retired in 1993.
Mr. Midget enjoyed collecting guns and target shooting. He loved his dogs and especially enjoyed being a father and grandfather. He liked to go fishing, swimming and traveling. He loved his God and his church. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and toy trains.
Survivors include his wife, daughters and sons-in-law Vickie and Rodney Hightower of Junction City, Marilyn and Jeff Blaze of Manchester, Mass., Brenda M. and Hubert Albers of Olympic, Calif.; father, William H. Midget, Sr. of Redding; brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Dina Midget of Stockton; sister and brother-in-law Sandra and Rod Sabatini of Greenview, Calif.; grandchildren Austin, Garrett and Bethany Hightower, Zachariah William Midget, Rachael Joy Midget and Hans Hubert Steven Albers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
