Mrs. Smith was born Jan. 15, 1942, in Granite City, Ill., the daughter of the late Roy Walker and wife Erma, nee Sponeman.
She received her education in Granite City, Ill.
On Aug. 11, 1984, she was united in marriage to John Paul Smith in Pacific.
She was employed by the Missouri Department of Corrections in Pacific.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Roy Walker.
She is survived by her husband, John Paul Smith, Pacific; two sons, Michael Wayne Robinson, St. Louis, and Shawn Edward Smith, Imperial; three daughters, Sheri Lynn Libbert and husband Bob, California, Mo., Shelley Marie Akins and husband James, Pacific, and Amanda Jean Pointer, Evansville, Ind.; eight grandchildren, Melissa Ann Steudle, Nicole Marie Dicus, Anthony James Little, Michael Vernon Little, Brittany Pointer, Garrett Allen Ash, Bryan Dean Ash and Jonathan Smith; two great-grandchildren, Abbigail Nicole Steudle and Addie Kay Dicus; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 6, at Nieburg-Vitt, Thiebes Funeral Home, Pacific, with the Rev. Earlwood Towne and the Rev. John Essary officiating.
Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Memorials to the Special Olympics are preferred.
Arrangements were made in the care of Nieburg-Vitt Thiebes Funeral Home, Pacific.
