LAWRENCE A. MIELKE, age 85, of Antwerp, Ohio, passed away at 3:55 AM, Friday, September 8th, 2006 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Born in Latty, Ohio on July 16, 1921, he was the son of the late Max and Minnie (Zimmerman) Mielke.

He graduated from Haviland/Scott High School in 1941.

In 1942 Lawrence married LaDonna Gusler. LaDonna passed away in 1997.

He attended Mount Calvary Lutheran Church of Antwerp.

Lawrence was a retired farmer, breeder of Morgan horses and a member of the American Morgan Horse Association.

Lawrence leaves behind his son & daughter-in-law, Karl & Nedra Mielke of St. Marys; 3 grandchildren, Steven & Karl Mielke of St. Marys and Lisa Hagerty of Greensboro, NC; 11 grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Betty Gusler of Zeeland, Michigan & Ida Mae Mielke of Paulding; brother-in-law, Wayne Keysor of Van Wert and many neices & nephews. He was preceded in death by his sons, Kevin & Barry; sisters, Martha Conard & Marie Corwin and brothers, John, Arthur & Carl.

You are invited to participate in his funeral service at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church of Antwerp at 11 AM on Tuesday, September 12th, with Reverend William E.D. Barlow officiating.

You may call Monday, 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM, at Dooley Funeral Home and Tuesday, 10 AM at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church of Antwerp.

He will be laid to rest at Live Oak Cemetery, Paulding.

In his memory contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
