Mary Emma Luke was born in Galesburg, Ill., August 16, 1867, and died in Salina, Kansas, April 5, 1932.
In April, 1872, just sixty years ago this month, she came with her parents to Kansas, settling in Fountain township, Ottawa County, where she has made her home since, until three years ago, when she went to the home of a daughter in Salina.

She was married February 11, 1886, to Benjamin Franklin Grace, who preceded her in death October 27, 1907. To them were born five children; Mrs. Mamie Burger of Ada, Mrs. Alta Oberg, of Salina; Mrs. Ureva Kobberman, of Lincoln; Mrs. Dorothy Brown, of Salina, and Benj. F. Grace, of Topeka. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, one brother, Chas. A. Luke, of Ada, and a large number of other relatives. She enjoyed a wide circle of friends.

At the age of twenty, she accepted Christ as her savior, and united with the Ada Baptist church, where her membership has always remained. As long as health permitted, she was always regular and faithful in her attendance at the services of her church.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 10, at 2:30 p.m. at the Ada Baptist church, conducted by Rev. A. W. Lee. Burial was in the Ada cemetery.
