J. Herman H. Degener Jr., 59, a clerk in the personal property tax office, died Thursday at 2:15 p.m. at his residence, 946 Mulberry St. Survivors include his wife, the former Marie M. Hoffmann; two sons, James Thomas and Richard Allen Degener; and two grandchildren. The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 1020 Burnett Ave., with burial in St. Michael Cemetery. The body will be at the Russman & Son Funeral Home, 1041 Goss Ave., after 11 a.m. Saturday.
