Elizabeth Margaret Stauder Frick was the daughter of Wendelin Stauder and Margaret Braun of Diedesheim, Rhenish Palatinate, Rhein-Pfaltz, Germany where she was born. Her parents were both born in Diedesheim. She married Dominick Frick who was born in Liechtenstein. They had ten children:
Margaret, Frances, Anna Barbara, Mary, Joseph, Nicolas, Ferdinand, Juliana M., Kathey [who died in childhood] and Clara. Dominick and Elizabeth Frick settled at French Village, Illinois, where he owned and operated a malt house. French Village was located just outside Belleville on what was then known as the rock road. He had teams of dray (heavy-hauling) horses and wagons that were used to haul malt to the breweries in St. Louis. All of their children were born in French Village with the exception of the last three who were born in St. Louis. He sold the malt house about 1872 and moved to St. Louis where he operated a dray (heavy-hauling) business on North Broadway (near Breman or Dock Street)until his death in 1880.
