David N. Hejny, 51, of Anderson, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 23, at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 26, with a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m. Funeral services were set for 10 a.m. Saturday. Both were held at Nobles Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Dan Schoessow officiating. Interment followed in Oakland Cemetery.

David was born June 5, 1958, in Houston,TX to Joseph and Mary (Stark) Hejny. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, and was an avid bird hunter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Wesley Alford; 2nd wife, Mary Ann Hejny; 1st father-in-law, Clinton Hawkins; and aunt, Rose Hejny.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Hejny of Anderson; mother and father-in-law, James and Sandra Kott of Richards; 1st mother-in-law, Dorothy Hawkins of Spring; 2nd mother-in-law, Dorothy Graff of Port Washington, WI; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Jason Vaughan of Montgomery; sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Shannon Proske of Conroe, David Abramowski of Bartlett, TN, Douglas Hejny and Ashlie Patterson of Anderson, and Keith and Kristen Hejny of Iola; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Dale Alford of Singleton, and Kay Hejny of Houston; and 4 grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Doug Hejny and Daryl Alford, both of Anderson; Keith Hejny of Iola; Chris Proske of Conroe; Jason Vaughan of Montgomery; and Derek Hirsch of San Augustine. Honorary pallbearers were David Abramowski of Bartlett, TN; Dale Alford of Singleton; and Tim Keen of Grapeland.
