HOLLAND — Bert Gerald Pruin, 82, of Holland, died on Tuesday, March 9, at Grundy County Hospital Long-Term Care, Grundy Center.

He was born on February 24, 1928, at home near Stout in Grundy County, son of Pete and Grace Bulthuis Pruin. On April 4, 1951, he married Adele Eilers at Lincoln Center Christian Reformed Church, Grundy Center.

Mr. Pruin worked as a farm hand, helped his dad haul cream for the Dike Creamery, and was a master carpenter. He served as a rural letter carrier for 18 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Lincoln Center Christian Reformed Church and United Reformed Church, Wellsburg.

Survived by his wife; two sons, David (Victoria) of Dike and Daryl of Stout; two daughters, Donna (Gary) Paszkiewicz of Kimmswick, Missouri, and Deann Kane (Lester) of Grundy Center; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Inez (Ed) McCarville of Dike and Mildred Goodell of Dike; and a brother, Harry of eastern Iowa.

Services at Lincoln Center Christian Reformed Church, Grundy Center. Burial in Lincoln Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Timothy Christian School, Wellsburg.
