His half sister was Margarethe E. Buccholz Fortkamp, Memorial 75415317.

The Long branch community had cause to mourn deeply the death of two of her respected and worthy citizens this past week, when death came to Mr. and Mrs. John Buckholz, old residents of Nemaha County. Mr. Buckholz died on Sunday, March 4 and his wife followed him four days later, passing away on Wed. March 8.

John Henry Buckholz was born May 5, 1842, in Hanover, Germany. HE came to the US in the year 1893, and settled in CAss county in the fall of the same year. Later he moved to Nemaha county.

In the year 1866, he was united in marriage to Miss Eleanor Goelner. THis union was blessed with 9 children, one son and eight daughers, one daughter dying in infancy.

The community feels deeply the loss of a friend who was ever ready to assist another in time of need and to render aid in a most practical way to whosoever was less fortunate.
