Final Rites for John Stricker Set

Funeral sevices for John Stricker, 73, of 111 Vance Street, who died Sunday, will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Stricker was a native of Germany and had lived in the United States for 67 years. He came to San Antonio in 1891 and established a grocery store which he operated for 30 years.

He was a life member of Anchor Lodge No. 424, a Scottish Rite Mason, 32 K.C.C.H., a member of the Alzafar Temple, a member of the Harmonia Lodge No. 1, O.D.H.S., and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

Pallberars will be Frank Bergman, Gus Edward, Clifton Fronne, Henry Hein, Antone Moursund and A. O. Wurzbach. Interment will be in Mission Burial Park.

Retired Merchant Native of Germany

Services for John Stricker, 73, retired veteran San Antonio merchant, will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m., in St. John's Lutheran church, 202 Nueva Street. He died in his home, 111 Vance St., Sunday night, after an illness of six weeks.

Stricker, a native of Vegesack, Germany, came to the United States at the age of 21 in 1889. Two years later, he established a grocery in San Antonio which he continue until 1918.

He was the founder also of the Mission Ice & Fuel Co. After his retirement from business, he bought a ranch near New Braunfels.

Besides being a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, he was a life member of Anchor Lodge No. 432, A. F. & A. M., a Scottish Rite Mason and a member of Harmonia Lodge, Hermann Sons.

Surviving besides his widow, Mrs. Ida S., are a daughter, Mrs. R. R. Maurer, and a grand-daughter, Maaynel Maurer, both of San Antonio.

Pallbearers will be Frnak Bergman, Gus Edward, Clifton, Fromme, Henry Hein, Anton Morsund and A. C. Wurzbach.
