MRS JOHN H LEHR
Mrs Florence Halsey Lehr of South Harbor Lane, Southold, died on Tuesday August 31 at the Eastern Long Island Hospital, Greenport.
Born in Bridgehampton on August 29, 1892, the daughter of the late C Edwin and Isabella Haynes Halsey, she was a graduate of Bridgehampton High School and was employed at the Bridgehampton National Bank after completing a course at Bird's Business School in New York.
In 1925 she married the late John H Lehr of Southold, where, after moving there, she was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, the local chapter of the National Grange and the Eastern Long Island Hospital Auxiliary.
Her brother was the late Wallace H Halsey of Southampton. She is survived by a niece Mrs Maurice B Cunningham, and a nephew Grenville B Halsey, both of Southampton. Also surviving are her adopted sons, Eugene Lehr of Bethesda Md and J Martin Lehr and David L Lehr of Southold.
Funeral services were conducted by the Reverend Alexander Sime at the First Presbyterian Church of Southold on Friday, September 3.
Interment was in the Presbyterian Cemetery, Southold.
