Marc was born on March 29, 1959 in Goessel, Marion Co., KS, the son of Eldon H and Garnette Lais Laubhan. He was baptized into the Christian faith on May 10, 1959 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, Marion Co., Kansas and was confirmed on April 29, 1973 at Christ Lutheran Church in Augusta, Butler Co., Kansas. He graduated from Augusta High School in 1977 and obtained a Bachelors Degree, with honors, in Mechanical Engineering from Pittsburg State University in 1981. Upon graduation, he was employed by Raytheon Aircraft (formerly Beech Aircraft) as a mechanical engineer and later as a program manager.
On October 8, 1988, he married Karen Bennett at Christ Lutheran Church in Augusta, Kansas.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; children, Hope and Caleb; parents, Eldon and Garnette Laubhan;, brother, Murray Laubhan and his wife, Rachel of Jamestown, North Dakota; grandmother, Helen Lais of Hillsboro, Kansas; father and mother-in-law, Leland and Marylou Marley of Augusta, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, American Cancer Society and Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Although beginning and ending dates are important for recording and remembering milestones and accomplishments, the significance of a person's life is determined by how he expresses his faith on the days between these dates. Throughout his short life, Marc spent his days focused most on the often intangible, but far more rewarding aspects of life as evidenced by his gracious and caring manner and his devotion to family, friends, and co-workers.
Even as he confronted cancer, his Christian faith and love of others was evident. He approached this challenge as he approached all other; guided by faith and charged with a commitment that ultimately provided inspiration to all those coming in contact with him. Perhaps the best embodiment of Marc's approach to life on earth is found in his confirmation verse, Revelations 2:10: "Do not be afraid of what you are to suffer. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life".
Although he will be deeply missed by those whose lives he touched, his presence will remain and his death in this world will be celebrated as he enter the Kingdom of God.
