Liske, Martin (28 OCT 1845 - 27 AUG 1926)

Martin Liske, aged Civil War Veteran, died at his home in the town of Worden, Clark County, Wis., on Friday, Aug. 27, 1926, after suffering from a chronic trouble for some time past. Deceased was born in Germany on Oct. 28, 1845, thus reaching the age of 80 years, 9 months and 29 days. Immigrating to America at an early age, he enlisted in Co. D., Ninth Regiment, Wis. Infantry, and served his adopted country until honorably discharge. His wife passed away about fifteen years ago. He leaves to mourn, five daughters, Mrs. Matilda Huls, Mrs. Fred Driessen, Mrs. George Vandehey, Mrs. Wm. Oberle and Miss Helen Liske, and one son, Joseph Liske. The funeral, which was largely attended by friends and neighbors, took place on Monday morning last from St. Bernard's Church in this village, Father Muckerheide officiating, interment following in the Catholic Cemetery.
