A Rockford, Minn., native who had lived in Klamath Falls since 1925 died Saturday following a lengthy illness.

Verna Laura Albert, 797, was born to Ole Hall and Daisy Smith Hall. She married the late Bert Albert on March 9, 1922 in Minot, N.D. The couple lived in Malin briefly and in Gold Hill before moving to Klamath Falls in 1925. He died in 1963.

Mrs. Albert was a member of Chiloquin Methodist Church and had been active in the Order of Eastern Star. She also was an artist and musician.

Survivors include her daughters, Wanda Castel and Paula Fletcher, Klamath Falls; granddaughters, Lana Swisher, Lynn Tofell and Ronda O'Connor, Klamath Falls, and Laura Hamilton, Salem, grandsons, Keith Castel, Klamath Falls; sisters, Mrs. Earl Moore, Central Point; brother, Shirley Hall, Nampa, Idaho; numerous nieces and nephews; 14 great-grandchildren.
