Melanie Stewart (5056655)
Melanie M. Stewart, 94, St. Augustine, died Nov. 11, 1999, at Flagler Hospital. She was a native of St. Augustine, and she was one of 10 children born to Mr. and Mrs. C.B. Mickler. She was a 1923 graduate of St. Joseph Academy and a 1926 graduate of St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing, Jacksonville.
She and her late husband, W.G. Stewart, lived in Washington, D.C., and Castleberry, before returning to St. Augustine in 1986. She was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Craig Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Seamus O'Flynn, pastor of St. Anastasia Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in San Lorenzo Cemetery. Prayers will be said at 5 p.m. Monday at Craig chapel, and friends may call at Craig chapel until 8 p.m.
Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a contribution, in her memory, to the Alzheimer's Foundation, 2131 Mango Place, Jacksonville, 32207.
Survivors include one sister, Margaret Pichard, Tallahassee; and a brother, Florence ''Gator'' Mickler, St. Augustine. Many nieces and nephews also survive her.
