Obituary-
On August 13, 1971 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Mr. Christian Schwabe, aged 71 years, beloved husband of Myrtle of Dominion City. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 17, at 2:30 p.m. from the Dominion City United Church with Rev. E.T. Blezard of Altona officiating. Interment will follow in the local cemetery.
Besides his wife, Mr. Schwabe is survived by three sisters, Mrs. H. Hanson of Lake Side, Montana, Mrs. M. Hanson of Kanmarie , North Dakota, Mrs. W. Hoppe of Martin City, N.D.; and one brother Hans Schwabe of Sherwood, N.D.
Mr. Schwabe was predeceased by one brother Louis in 1968.
Deceased was born in Jackson, Minnesota on June 9, 1900. He immigrated to Canada in 1928 to Valmarie, Sask. where he farmed until 1937. Mr. Schwabe came to Manitoba and the Greenridge area in 1937 and he farmed in that area until his retirement into Dominion City 1960.
Mr. Schwabe was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Dominion City and he served on the United Church session at Greenridge and at Dominion City for many years.
