(It was Belle Jacobs, dau. of Martin Jacobs, who sent this photo to her first cousin, Anna(Jacobs)Alexander, Fredus' daughter in Ohio, in 1949. Belle said: "The lumber went into our houses on the farms up by the schoolhouse. Your father is the man on the load. My father holds the team. The picture was taken on the hill near the bridge at Jacobstown, IL., sometime in the early 1860s".)
