Carson -- Oliver Bass, 87, a retired farmer and county road worker, died of heart failure Friday at Conva-Rest Nursing Home in Hattiesburg. Services are 2 p.m. today at Greens Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Saulters-Moore Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Mr. Bass was a Jefferson Davis County native. He was a member of Green's Creek Baptist Church. Survivors; sons, Hubert Bass of Prentiss, Charles Bass of Sumrall and Bud Bass and L. B. Bass, both of Carson; daughters, Christine Dyess of Prentiss and Lucille Dyess of Carson; sister Nannie McKenzie of Collins and 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
