Royce Alfred Raschke, age 55, of Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully at home October 3, 1996, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, who lived his life to the fullest, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Royce is survived by his wife of 36 years, Karen Kay (Keller) Raschke; a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Leigh Raschke of Austin; daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Christopher Hall of The Woodlands; one grandson, Brandon Kyle Raschke; his loving parents, Edwin and Lorriena Raschke of Prairie Valley; brother and sister-in-law, Kermit and Gloria Raschke; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Frank Bilberry; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wilbert and Evelyn Kellar; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dian and Ed Barham; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bobby and Linda Kellar; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends who loved him dearly.
Royce worked for the State of Texas Treasury Department for 31 years. He retired on February 28, 1994, and was able to enjoy his precious grandson. Royce was involved as an Elder at Our Savior Lutheran Church, where he was a charter member.
He will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family, and his faithful attendance in his church.
The family wishes to acknowledge the services of Pastor Gordon Albers, Family Hospice, and Dr. Bali Netaji and his staff.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 4, 1996, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 5, 1996, at 2:00 p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1513 E. Yager Lane, with Pastor Gordon Albers officiating. Burial will be at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery. His friends will serve as pallbearers.
