Passed away at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. Tuesday, November 7, 2000. Age 93 years.
Born on November 19, 1906 in Joliet, lifelong Joliet resident.
Survived by her sister-in-law, Fern Clemens of Vista, CA; two nieces, Nancy (James) Norton and Pamela (David) Oliver, both of Oceanside, CA; and a nephew, Thomas (fiancee Sharon Shay). Also surviving are two grandnieces, Deborah Norton and Jennifer Clemens; and a grandnephew, Christopher Clemens; dearest friends, Julia D. Malloy and Craig and Annie Wright. Also survived by many friends.
Preceded in death by her husband, Howard Stadler (1974); her parents, Thomas and Lottie (nee Funk) Clemens; a brother, Major Harlod T. Clemens, USMC (Ret.).
Member of First Presbyterian Church since the age of 4. Retired from Chicago Title and Trust Co. in 1971 after 45 years of service.. Leona loved to travel.
Lying in state at the First Presbyterian Church, 805 Western Ave., Thursday, November 9 from 10:30 AM until time of services at 11 AM. Rev. Dr. Craig M. Herr officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Wednesday, November 8 from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to First Presbyterian Church would be appreciated.
