Mark C. Stewart was born July 7, 1879, and departed this life Jan. 12, 1939, aged 58 years, five months and five days. He was married to Florence Gardner in 1901. To this union nine children were born, all of whom survive. They are five sons, Roma of Springfield, Forest of Ozark, Sherman of Chadwick, and Harry, Orville and Bryan of the home; three daughters, Sylia Givens of Chadwick, Mildred Owens of Springfield and Kathryn of the home. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, two step children, Willie Watts of Springfield and Jack Gardner of Rogersville, by two brothers, Jay and Chester Stewart of California and two sisters, Mrs. Sonia Miller and Mrs. Ira Watts of Colorado. He was born near Ozark and had lived all his life either in this vicinity or near Rogersville. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, Jan. 15, at 2 p.m. in the McCracken church with Rev. Bristow of Rogersville officiating with burial in the McCracken cemetery under the direction of the Chaffin Funeral Home of Ozark.
