Dorothy Ruth Stoessel, 81, of Leesburg, Fla., died Thursday, April 8, 2010. She was born Aug. 18, 1928 in Buffalo, N.Y. She has lived here for 21 years coming from Rochester, N.Y. Mrs. Stoessel was a homemaker and a former clerk for the town of Chili, N.Y. She played ice hockey, was a softball coach, and in a golf league in N.Y. She also was very involved in her children's activities. In Florida, she was on a bowling league and golf 9 & 18's club. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Leesburg. She is survived by her husband, Roger of Leesburg; daughter, Lynne (Robert) Ross of Pueblo, Colo.; sons, Mark (Elana) Stoessel of Camp Zama, Japan; David (Lauren) Stoessel of Rochester, N.Y.; John (Reilly) Stoessel of Rochester, N.Y.; grandchildren, Rachel, Abbey, Morgan, Andy & Zachery; brother, Richard Beyer of Akron, N.Y.; and sister, Shirley Clergy of Beaverton, Ore. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. Inurnment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla.
