Herald Coaster, December 23, 1999:

Funeral services for Erwin Loesch, 84, of Needville, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 24, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1512 Louise in Rosenberg, with the Rev. Wayne Schueler officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Marvin Loesch, Matthew Loesch, Erwin Loesch, Dean Lindemann, Tony Lindemann, and Chase McConnell. Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, at the Garmany and Carden Funeral Chapel, 3103 School Street in Needville.

Mr. Loesch died Dec. 22, 1999 at Polly Ryon Skilled Care Center in Richmond. He was born April 15, 1915 to Emil Loesch and Anna Lampe Loesch in William Penn, Texas. He was baptized by the Rev. Iverson at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in William Penn and then confirmed at the church by C.J. Appel April 3, 1930. He served in the U.S. Army with the 41st Infantry Division in the South Pacific during World War II. He worked as a farmer. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

His wife, Mary Loesch, preceded him in death, as well as his parents. Emil and Anne Loesch; a stepdaughter, Betty Jane Shiver; and a sister, Lenora Hart.

He is survived by two stepsons, Jim Nohawitz and his wife, Jeanette, of Needville, and Herman Nohawitz of Alice; two brothers, Arthur Loesch and his wife, Martha, of Rosenberg, and Harry Loesch and his wife, Grace, of Needville; three sisters, Hildegard Niemeyer of Rosenberg, Lillie Lindemann of Needville, and Willie Mae Stall of Schulenburg; five step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
