Mildred Werder

SPRINGFIELD — The celebration of life will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Willamalane Adult Activity Center, 215 West C St. in Springfield, for Mildred Mae "Millie" Werder of Springfield, who died April 10 of lung cancer. She was 90. A reception will follow at the VFW Post 3965 at 5344 Main St. in Springfield.

Werder was born July 10, 1919, in Madison, Wis., to Leslie and Mattie Drew Martin. She married Hayes Werder on April 17, 1946, in Toledo, Oregon. He died in July 1973.

She graduated from East Madison High School. She worked more than 30 years at the Willamalane Adult Activity Center as nutrition site manager and continued as a volunteer after her retirement.

Survivors include four daughters, Cathy McGilvery of Omak, Wash., Cindy McGarvey of Canby, Helen Noel and Bobbie Mahoney, both of Springfield; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
