Delores Wilson

On Sunday, April 11, 2010, Delores (Wall) Wilson, Bokchito, left this world to enjoy the glories of Heaven and to eternally experience what is written about in 1 Corinthians 2:9: "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him."

Letha Delores Wall was born Monday, Sept. 24, 1923, to Martin Luther and Ella Elodusta (Cochnauer) Wall. She lived all but the last six years of her life north of Bokchito; residing at Four Season Nursing Home in Durant from 2003 to 2010. Delores attended grade school at Pritchard School and graduated from the 12th grade at Bokchito High School.

Delores married Thomas Norman Wilson Oct. 19, 1946, in Durant. During their 63-year marriage, she was a devoted homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bokchito. She loved her savior, Jesus Christ, and was grateful for the blessings He bestowed upon her. She loved the simpler things of this life: eating chocolate, sewing, gardening, playing 42 and always loving her friends and family.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents, sister Winona Jacobsen and brothers Bill, Wylie and David Wall.

She is survived by her husband of Bokchito; sons Norman Durwayne Wilson and wife Judy, Lubbock, TX, Luther Neville Wilson and wife Lynn, North Branch, MN, and James Myron Wilson and wife Susie, Bokchito; daughter Norma Kay Byfield and husband Steve, Rosharon, TX; sister Mary Jeffreys and husband Judge, Bokchito; nephews Rodney Jeffreys, Bokchito, Wendell Jeffreys, Lubbock, TX, and Mark Wall, Calera; niece Nancy Wall, Durant; grandchildren Jeffrey Norman Wilson, Nathan James Wilson, Leith Elisabet Wilson Tews, Jessica Lynn Wilson Newhouse, Timothy Neville Wilson, Benjamin Thomas Wilson, Stephen Kyle Byfield and Stephanie Kayla Byfield; two great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bokchito First Baptist Church. Revs. Bob McLean and Harry Boydstun will officiate.

Interment will follow at Bokchito Cemetery. Kyle Byfield, Clinton Hoffman, Wendell Jeffreys, Benjamin Wilson, Nathan Wilson and Timothy Wilson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Douglas Deel, Raymond Haddix, David Hawkins, Judge Jeffreys and James O. Potts.
