Frank Rost passed away at St. Luke's Medical Center in Boise, Idaho, on Thursday, April 15, 2010.
Frank was born Dec. 19, 1924, in Wendell, Idaho, to Frank Rost Sr. and Albertine Rost. He attended school in Wendell, where he met his wife, Gwen Powell, and they were married in 1943. They had seven children, Mary, Robert, Richard, Rodney, Jerry, George and Lisa.
He had many jobs throughout his life - custom farming, truck driving, skilled carpenter, and State of Idaho building inspector, working on buildings at the Idaho School for the Deaf and the Blind and College of Southern Idaho buildings.
Frank was a lifetime member of the LDS Church. Throughout his life, he was called to serve in many facets of the gospel. He particularly enjoyed the years he worked in the Boise Temple.
Frank had many hobbies - raising cattle, birds and working on his own farm. He liked raising a vegetable garden and sharing it with his family and friends. He loved the outdoors and loved taking rides just to see the mountains and deserts. Frank spent a lot of his time enjoying his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Gwen; daughter, Mary (Glenn) Lee; son, Robert (LaRita) Rost; daughter-in-law, Vallejo Rost; son, Jerry (Janette) Rost; son, George (Beverly) Rost; daughter, Lisa (Don) Bailey; brother, Roy (Frances) Rost; and sister, Verda Rost; as well as 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Rost Sr. and Albertine Rost; his brother, Wayne; his sister, Grace; and two sons, Rodney and Richard.
