Wilbert Bradtmiller, 76, a lifelong resident of Allen County who retired from farming in 1970, died at 7:57 pm Saturday in his home.

Surviving are his wife, Luella; two sons, Melvin, Fort Wayne, and Lester, New Haven; a daughter, Loraine Hartmann, New Haven, a sister, Alvina Schaper, Woodburn and 8 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Kenneth, just two months earlier.

Services are 11 am Tuesday in Martini Lutheran Church with burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens. Friends may call at E Harper & Son Funeral Home, New Haven from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm today or at the church after 10 am Tuesday. Grandpa was the youngest of his parent's 11 children. He was born and also raised his children on the family farm. The farm was the original homestead purchased by his great grandfather Karl H Bradtmueller, the first Bradtmueller who emigrated from Germany to America. The farm was sold in 1974 and a short time later, Grandpa & Grandma purchased a home in the Georgetown neighborhood of Fort Wayne.
